Understanding wife just bought me farcry. Played the first mission and I like it, has a fun feel to it. Going to see what the multiplayer is like.

My not so understanding wife would not know what far cry was if it landed in her vanity case... Lucky Man!

I just had a quick jaunt into multiplayer land. First it made me register with ubisoft, ok, I did that. Then we went looking for all the multiplayer games out there, all three of them! The first and third games I tried to join kicked me the instant I joined. I got in the second one but it was so laggy as to be unplayable with maybe two or three other players somewhere in the undergrowth. I like the single player but multi seems very dissapointing.

I agree, multiplayer internet play in farcry is quite b uggy. But its awesome when it works.

I have been playing it a lot lately on my lan with friends. Mostly just FFA games. The best map has to be Radio. The weapons in farcry kick ass!

I really only play that map online. I almost always seem to win, so that helps keep my attention. All other gametypes seem to lag a lot.

We should play against each other sometime.

I had the same problem. I wasn't sure if it was my ISP or the game, but the multiplayer was so choppy it was like watching a halloween dance- you know, with a strobe light going on and off...but I do enjoy the Single-player part. At least I did until my HDD crashed, so now I have to re-install and start over lol.

Bothered, the single player is one of the better games I've played in a long time. Way better than Doom 3. I'm still not done with it, I THINK I'm close to the end, but man am I having a blast.

True, the single player is loads of fun. Like a lot of games though it needs a quick save. I believe the 1.2 patch included one but the patch had so many bugs its been withdrawn. It'll be better when they iron it out and re-release it.

I really enjoyed that game, I got it with my 6800 and after patching it played it basically non-stop until I finished it...I loved it.

I sort of enjoy the challenge of not having the quicksave. Although I did spend the last TWO FREAKING DAYS at one particularly impossible part -- the only frustrating thing was how FAR BACK the checkpoint set me every time I died. It was extremely repetitive - go way back, do all this crap again, get to the really hard part, die. Repeat.

I was SO relieved when I finally got past it.

Which is exactly why I say all games should have at least the option of a quick save. I don't mind games being hard, I do mind having to do the same parts again and again. There are games I've given up on because of the frustration of 'check points'.

Well good luck when you get to the part where you have to flood the mutagen room ;D

Getting the dingy off the carrier at the begining was hard enough till I realised you could just jump overboard.

getting TO that dingy is damn difficult on realistic. going through the whole game on that difficulty, that was definitely one of the hardest parts

I'll probably try realistic when I beat it. It's already hard enough on the medium setting ;D

I'm playing it on medium and it's hard enough, well done prime. The lack of a quick save does screw me up though. I'm going very slowly with it, waiting for the patch with the quick save.
