Try This: Right Click IE > Properties > Connections > Settings > Properties > Networking. Under This Connection...items is Internet Protocol (TCP/IP).

I hope that is what you want

There is nothing to change under there related to it anyway.

Make sure you have the firewall turned off for that network connection Danball (the Windows firewall I mean).

I have the Windows Firewall turned off. Why would it be on, when I have ZoneAlarm installed?

I downloaded that, and changed it to 100. I do use Bittorrent, eMule and IRC BTW.

Hmmm... I got this after doing that:
    Event Type:	Information
    Event Source:	Windows File Protection

    SP2 turns the firewall on.

"SP2 limits the number of concurrent TCp connection attempts to 10 in an effort to curtail worm activity. That's not necessarily a bad thing at all although it could be debated that 10 is a little low.

This means that you can't try to establish anymore than 10 connections at a time. You can have more than 10 - you just can't try to start them all at once.

This will affect P2P - most notably bittorrent. If your client (Azurues) will allow you to initiate connections slowly then selecting that option should prevent your event log being flooded with the resulting security warning and your P2P should function as normal"

Here's the unlimited TCPIP.sys from XP SP2 RTM (build 2180). It's been edited using the patching. \\edit - removed bad link

Boot into "Safe Mode" and Copy the "tcpip.sys" file to these directories:
    C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\DRIVERS
    C:\WINDOWS\SERVICEPACKFILES\I386
    C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\DLLCACHE

BTW, I don't have a C:\WINDOWS\SERVICEPACKFILES\I386 folder, and its not in the DLLCACHE folder either, just the DRIVERS folder. If you copy a file into the system folder, SP2 will complain about it with a pop up saying that a necessary system file has been modified, and ask you what to do. If you press cancel to copy the original form the CD, it will then ask if you want to keep the modified file, or the original one. Previous versions never did this. Booting into safe mode isn't necessary anymore.

I dunno about you guys but i can't get the www.supportbuddy.com/sp2/tcpip.sys to work, it just gives me a load of links and other stuff, no Downloading of tcpip.sys anywhere on the page

Is there another place i could Download tcpip.sys?

THIS, THIS and THIS may shed some light.

These are two options. A pre modded file and a patch...

Windows will try to replace if you modify the file so just cancel if it does...

    Thanks

Will the tcpip.sys open up 50 port like the patch, or will it make it unlimited?

    Thanks in advance
