Dammit, I'm getting pissed here!!!

I've spent several days trying to find a decent Dell laptop on eBay. Then when I do, I have to wait for the auction to count down. Then in the last half hour of the auction someone jacks the price up around $300, which is out of my price range.

I'm looking for a decent Dell laptop, 300-400 Mhz processor, CD drive, USB port, PCMCIA slot, etc. Nothing great, just a computer that will work well for me.

My price range is 200-250.

As I said in the email, I'll most likely get it. I'm doing some research and replacement parts searching for it on the internet tonight. The computer show this weekend has some reputable memory stick vendors, so I may buy more memory this weekend. And maybe a PCMCIA card if I can find one with an ethernet plug AND wireless capability.

Or maybe I have to get 2 seperate cards to do those 2 things?

Most likely, yes, you will need 2 seperate cards for those tasks. You can usually find the 10/100 LAN card for almost-free-after-rebate prices at places like OfficeMax, and the WiFi cards pretty cheap after rebate pretty much anywhere.

I've had to buy two replacement keyboards for my Dell Inspiron 7500 due to destructive modding attacks on it by both my kids. A new keyboard from Dell was cheaper and included the warranty than those offered on Ebay. If the part isn't listed on the site, try calling they probably have it. I don't know what the Latitude one costs, but mine was like 30$ delivered.

I got the laptop today. The new keyboard also showed up today, so I replaced it and loaded up a copy of XP Home. So far all is well.
