Hi y'all.
I use a Saitek p3000 wireless pad, a couple actually, and I like them. I can program any button to anything I want even though I only use the 'D' pad and left trigger for all my games. The trouble with it is the base station which is also the charger for the battery, one keeps failing on me, I've bent the prongs, cleaned them, done all sorts but it keeps letting me down. So I was thinking of changing them. What would you guys recommend? I want wireless and programmable buttons. Do Logitech do anything?
ps, I don't do keyboard for gaming.
Thanks.

Think you could take the controler apart and remove the battery? It's possible it needs to be replaced.

The battery unplugs and plugs into the base station. It's changed every few days. I had problems with the batteries when I first got them so Saitek sent some new ones. I have cleaned up all the batteries so now have six of them. It ain't the batteries, it's the charger.

Well, you could use just one of the base stations to charge the batteries, otherwise I'd get the other base station replaced.

I'm suprised you're having trouble with them, as I've heard so many good things about that brand/model gamepad.

yeah, logitech makes a cordless rumblepad that's wireless and looks like a ps2 controller. If yer willing to go wired, i recommend getting a usb adapter that converts real first party ps2 controllers to pc. cuz them are some good controllers.

what have you been cleaning with?

try cleaning the contact points on the charger and the batteries with an eraser. you know, like a pink one on the back of a pencil. sounds crazy, i know, but it works...

I actually use a little 'com brush'. It's for cleaning electrical contacts. It's got tiny abrasive bristles. The batteries arn't the problem and I do use the charger that works. I'll have a look at the logitech, as long as I can tun thee rumble off.
