my hdd is freazing

edited September 2004 in Hardware
when i try to watch movies my hdd is freazing for a couple of seconds
(the hdd led is turning off)
and then the movie continues exactly where it was before the problem.
The same problem ocurre when i run other aplications.
I have windows 2003.

msi k7n2 delta ilsr (chipset nvidia), hdd wd2000jb, riva tnt2 32M,
256 ddr 400 kingston dual chanel, XP 2800, cd-rw plextor, dvd-rom plextor

C: 10G NTSF
D: 50G NTSF
E: 50G NTSF
F: 80G NTSF

If i install Xp it sees my hdd as 131G not 200, and if i copy more data then 131G xp restarts the computer, and it says c: unknown

Befero this i had windows 98 and partitions c and d fat32 (5G each)
and i didn't had any problem.

well to fix the 131G problem in XP, get the WD Data Lifeguard thing from WD's site.. im using that same HDD in winxp with no problems. that might fix your problem..
