I recently moved to college, and the upload bandwidth here is great, so i decided to run a FTP server and family and stuff.

My main question is how to run the server with SSL.

THanks

    Dont bother with SSL.

Run it over SSH & use SFTP :)

What you gonna run it on?? Windows or Linux?

Have a good look at this :)

It's an excellent little SSH server for Windows. It costs.. but it's worth it against some pseudo SSL server and it's hassles with getting a certificate.

It's a shame, the only free SSH server I ever found was with cygwin - takes a lot of work to install and surely has a good bit of overhead. I wouldn't pay for that software though.

That's cool that you've got bandwidth leishi. My upload is great too... however they cut down your speeds here if you've transferred "a lot" (750mb!) in the past 24 hours :(
