New Radeon 9800 and Doom 3 : Need Help!
Hey guys,
I just bought a new Radeon 9800 256mb for my computer solely for the sake of running Doom 3 at some nice higher end FPS.. What i was using before was my GeForce4 5200 128mb..
Anyway, so i just installed my radeon and the drivers and Direct X9, but when i go to run doom 3, i get even Worst FPS than i did when i used my GeForce.. I mean i cant even run the game at 800x600 Res.. I have no idea whats wrong, and my computer can handle the game otherwise..
P4 3.0 Ghz
1 Gig DDR Ram
Dont know why my Radeon isnt going so well with Doom 3, Can you guys help me out.? Thanks!

Acording to fraps I get 60 fps most of the time but it may drop to 45 when the action heats up.
I'm interested in those files as well. YGPM.
Like this:
autoexec.cfg
set com_allowconsole "1"
set com_showfps "1"
set com_videoram "128"
set image_downsizebumplimit "512"
set image_downsizebump "1"
set image_downsizelimit "512"
set image_downsize "1"
set image_downSizeSpecularLimit "64"
set image_downSizeSpecular "1"
set image_usecache "1"
set image_cachemegs "256"
set image_cachemink "20480"
set r_displayrefresh "70"
of course your settings may vary.
be sure to include the quotes. these are the settings I use for my 128mb 9800pro ...if this were a 256mb card I would use the following settings:
set com_allowconsole "1"
set com_showfps "1"
set com_maxfps "128"
set com_videoram "256"
set image_downsizebumplimit "1024"
set image_downsizebump "1"
set image_downsizelimit "1024"
set image_downsize "1"
set image_downSizeSpecularLimit "64"
set image_downSizeSpecular "1"
set image_usecache "1"
set image_cachemegs "256"
set image_cachemink "20480"
set r_displayrefresh "70"
or something like that.
