Anyone else in the WoW stress test?

Anyone else taking part in the WoW stress test? I'm burning the 2.1 GB file to CD(s) and taking them home so I could play it (won't download at home for some odd reason).

yeah I'm not so impressed. I have the problems with it that I figured I would have, which is that the graphics just look entirely sub-par to me, and I really can't get over that. I had the same problem with War3. the thing is though that I dont dislike the graphics BECAUSE they're not good, I dislike them because not only are they not good, they're also NEW and being advertised as top of the line, which they are most obviously not

    /end rant

Keep in mind that pixel shaders and specular lighting has been temporarily disabled for all beta users since Sept. 3rd. The graphics will be MUCH better than this.

So after a couple days of playing the game, I ask [all MMORPG fans] "What's the point"?

You walk around walk around for 5-10 minutes between goals, killing/collecting things to fulfill missions. Just like every other MMORPG I've ever played (only this one has better graphics). Do people really find this fun, so much fun that you'd lock yourself in your room for days and die because you were so entertained that you forgot to eat?

And people thought Doom 3 was pointless... at least you don’t have to pay $10-$15 per month to play it.

I haven't even found a legitimate reason for the whole multiplayer aspect yet...

So common guys, why do you people play these games, and actually repeatedly pay money for them?

Because they interest in ways that do nothing for you.

    //EDIT:

Did you try exploring for the sake of exploring?
    Did you try any tradeskills?
    Did you try any grouping?
Did you try any of the elite-level quests?
Did you level high enough to begin customization via talents?
    Did you try different classes?
Did you take a Gryphon ride or two?
How many quests did you do?
Did you leave your starting city?

I've found that people who don't "Get" MMORPGs can never be given reasons they will deem acceptable. For every reason I ever give a non-MMO player, they give me a "Yes, but, how is that (whatever)?" question.

    I've stopped trying.

If you're convinced that WoW is "Just like every other MMO" you really aren't one I'm going to try to convince otherwise. The differences are VERY apparent.

    I could say..

Exploring is fun. Questing is fun. Grouping with people is fun. Trying the really hard quests is fun. The sheer volume of content is fun. The dynamic content is fun.

But if you've done any of that, and likely that you have, and don't find it fun.. How are those going to be valid reasons to you?

Ive seen my roommates plat FFXI and I didnt want to play it all. This one tho I do. I watch Litus and Norge play all the time. They are in the real beta. Like just last night Litus got into an unfinished area. There is a Blizzard guardian guarding the path to it with mountains all around it and Litus found his way thru the mountains. There were no NPCs or anything to kill.

For one think you guys didnt get to here the murlocs. They took away their sound but its coming back next patch.
