Creative Geforce3 Ti200

edited September 2004 in Hardware
I have a strange problem with my Geforce3 ti200. When i boot up my computer, i see garbled text all over my screen. When i go to my bios all text is unreadable cause alle letters are replaced by other letters. Windows does'nt boot up too, i get a green/red dots screen right before it starts windowsxp & then it hangs. The thing is, i found a solution to the problem, i have to open up my pc & touch my vidcard with my hands & then reboot, problem gone. windows runs fine , no garbled text while booting, i can overclock my card with no problems, no crashes.

Could this be due to some static electricity on my card or something like that, it's so strange, i touch the pcb of my card 1 second & problem is fixed. I don't wanna do that everytime i start up my computer.

please help

Have you tried pulling it out and re-seating it. It may just be a dodgy connection.

I have this problem for 1,5 years now. At first i thought my AGP slot of my mobo was dameged, bad connection so i bought a new motherboard. But the problem still existed. So i went out & bought me a radeon9800se. That card worked fine for 1,5 years, but recently died. No post anymore. So now i use my old gf3 while i'm waiting for my Geforce6800GT. Reseating doesn't help.

    my specs:
    AMD XP 2800
    Asus N8X-X
    1GB Ram
