Three computers in the same workgroup on hooked up through the same router

edited September 2004 in Science & Tech
Hey guys

I've got three computers hooked up to the same linksys router but I can't seem to network them together anymore. Firewalls have been removed and shares have been placed, but nothing seems to happen here. Any ideas?

P.S. If you're going to leave a post, please leave incredibly detailed instructions. I greatly appreciate it.

    What OS?

Start with 2 of the computers.
    DHCP or static addresses?
    Can they ping each other?
If so, can you see the other computers in your network neighbourhood?

    XP
    DHCP
The computers can ping each other but will not see each other in the network neighborhood.

Are the computers in the same workgroup?

Have you run the Network Wizard on those 3 PC's?

Great suggestion. For some unknown reason I have had times where I had to run the wizard more than once to get it to work. If it takes more than a few seconds to complete the job it doesn't seem to take hold. I've learned to re-run it until it breezes right through each step. It's a pain, but it usually works in the end.
