Hey everyone, this would be my first post here. I read a few threads, but it seems that there is no one solution for this problem...it seems like most instances are a little unique. I'd appreciate any help you guys could give.

I read the threads for before posting a log...I've used updated versions of AdAware and Spybot S&D.

My problem is the offeroptimizer and banner barn spyware that pops up while starting up and randomly during use of IE. I went to bed last night without a problem [I scan with AdAware and spybot every few weeks], and I woke this morning to find my computer totally raped by adware...over 200 instances picked up by adaware and spybot. Ew. I think all of it, besides this problem, is done with.

    Welcome to Short Media forums.

    Before doing the following, please Set your computer to show hidden files and folders, Disable System Restore, and Reboot in Safe Mode.

    Once you have done that, Run HijackThis and have it fix the following:


    O2 - BHO: LocalNRDObj Class - {00320615-B6C2-40A6-8F99-F1C52D674FAD} - C:\WINDOWS\localNRD.dll
    O15 - Trusted Zone: *.line6.net


    Then find and locate the files listed above and Quarentine Them.

    Once you have done that, reboot, scan with HijackThis again, and post a new log.

    the Line6 Doesn't show up in safe mode. I can't find it using the search function, nor does it show up in the HJT scan during safe mode.

    I THINK that the line6 thing has to do with a Line 6 GuitarPort I have used on my computer several times. As of now, I'm going to avoid deleting it unless you say otherwise.

    I'll delete the entries you just mentioned in your last post then post another HJT log. I didn't get the popup when I started up IE to make this post though...so far so good.

    One more thing - both times when I shut the computer down in safe mode, i got the "Sample - Ending nonresponsive program" box. This never has happened in normal windows use. I'm not sure what it is, because the only things I ran in safe mode were HJT, and I opened folders. Should this be disregarded, or could be something else?

    EDIT: By the way, so far no instances of xlime or bannerbarn. I'll report back if I get anything. Otherwise, great job. Thanks a million.
