Flash suddenly not working

Flash has died on me :(. It works in IE, but not in Maxthon or Firefox! I've reinstalled the plugin or whatever several times in both browsers, and it seems to go ... but I still can't say ANY flash and it's pissing me off! Any ideas?

    bump ... I just read everything I can on Macromedia's site, and there's nothing useful that works there...
