Bestfriends.scr Question

ok here is my problem, please let me know if you have any suggestions or anything. A friend of mine was using my computer to check away messages, and he so graciously downloaded the Bestfriends.scr virus. I followed all the steps from the removal guide, but it didn't find any of those entries to remove. Also it hasn't changed my away messages or profile or anything. However, it has messed up my version of Norton Corporate Edition 8.1. It was working perfectly fine until this virus was downloaded. Now, from what I've noticed, it has disabled realtime protection, and won't let me enable it, When I try to run a scan, it tells me "Symantec Antivirus could not access the scan engine. Please ensure the product is properly installed." And when I click on "Virus List" to view the definitions I get this error message: "Unable to view virus list, Virus list is missing or damaged." I have tried to reinstall Norton and it did not fix the problem. Does anyone have any suggestions for me?

Ok, so to update, I manually downloaded the most recent virus definitions for Norton, and it fixed the virus definitions not being found, and it also cleared up the access to the scan engine, so I can now perform scans. However, My realtime protection is still disabled, but the option is still checked. Any suggestions on a fix for this?

uninstall and reinstall NAV first, and then we'll go from there.

I only needed to reinstall Live Update in order for it to correct the problem. Thanks for your suggestion.
