What is the best web-cam out there?

A friend of mine has an unlimited budget to get a set of web cams with and needs to know what would be the best way to go. I know virtually nothing about these things so...what should I tell him to get?

Pretty much anything by Logitech. They make great webcams.

The QuickCam Orbit model features mechanical pan and tilt for automatic face tracking. You can walk across a room and it will follow you.

If you have an unlimited budget, get a couple of Panasonic DX100 studio cameras, and link those into your computer...

Each camera will run you about $7k. Anything more expensive than those would be impractical for webcam use...

If you need help setting this stuff up, let me know, and I'll give you what help I can, I work with these types of cameras on a regular basis.

I hear real good things about Logitech, I've even used one and it was nice. I guess it ultimately depends on the quality you're looking for.

Logitech have great webcams. If you want to spend > $150 I would also look at the dlink DCS2100+ as security/webcam. If you pm me I'll give you access to one of mine so you can see them in action...

They have there own IP so are great for networking.
