Install SP2, no more sharing printers, and folders

Ya so since i installed SP2, on my laptop I can't print on my network printer, or find folders on the other computer.
I thought if i installed SP2 on my main computer that has the printer it would fix this. nope.
I disabled the firewall, re-setup the network using window's guide, then did the same using window's wireless network guide on both computers (both times enabling sharing printers and folders).
Still it doesn't show up on my network places, infact the other computer doesn't even show up on my laptop, and vice versa.
The very last thing i haven't done is re-install my router's software. I can foresee problems from doing this, so i'm trying to hold this off as a last solution.
Any ideas? Anyone else have problems like this?

Well I finally figured it out, so I guess i'll post for anyone else having the same problem.
While it didn't show up on the network places where matter where I looked on it. I did a IP scan with a program and it brought up the other computer. Then I choose view and it brought it up in the network places with all the shared folders and printers.
It went like this \\*.*.*.100 (whatever your computer IP is on the network) in the address bar (no http, ftp or anything just the \\). Once my computer saw it like that, for some reason I now have the other computer with the printer showup on my network places finally.
Go figure
