Chaintech VNF3-250 Zenith (A64) nForce3 SOU/LAN/SATA
GeForce FX 5600 256MB
Hitachi 80GB HD
1x512 PC3200 DDR400

Basically what the problem is, I naturally go to install windows xp booting from cd rom, it goes through all the basic steps, but actually before it boots, I have to press F7 on storage devices to skip something and when I don't, I get an error saying it's not ACPI Compliant and press F7 to skip and install windows, so I do that but alas I get another error, this one being PFN_LIST_CORRUPT when windows is installing so i'm quite lost at the moment not too sure what can stop this, HELP PLEASE!

    That's a driver conflict.

    1) Check BIOS and make sure APIC is enabled.
    2) Double check the BIOS. If it has MPS 1.1/1.4 Set it to 1.4. If you can't find that then don't worry.

You shouldn't have to press F7. The only F command I encounter during WinXP setup is F6 for storage devices such as SATA raid drivers otherwise WinXP has all the necessary drivers to load normally.

This is on a clean install and not an upgrade. When dropping a new OS in...I always format the partition during the install as practice. Backup any data first.

    3) Make sure the install disk is clean. Wipe one say across the underside of the with a slightly damp papertowel...slightly damp, very, with water only.

    4) Download MEMTEST86 from our downloads section and make sure the RAM is okay.

    Hope this helps.

well APCI is enabled and MPS is already on 1.4 - memtest though I do need to try because I have a good feeling it MAY just be my ram, at the moment i'm on a friends computer, should I download and put the files onto a blank cd or a floppy?

Apart from that, I really appreciate your help in this time of crisis

I'm sorry I wasn't clear. I was wanting memtest. I was able to use the site you provided but I thought that I would be able to download through this site though. It appears that I'm unable to download anything directly from this site. Any ideas?

    Thanks for your help,
    Chuck
