The 1700+ processor I had OC'd to the max gave up the ghost the other night. I've been so busy, that this is the first chance I had to say something about it. My main FX-53 rig is impersonating IC2 right now. I have another 1700+ sittin in it's original packaging. So :bawling: R.I.P. one 1700+

Sorry to hear that, red. :(

Are you absolutely sure it's the proc that crapped out? I've never seen an AMD proc just die even overclocked as long as the vcore wasn't too outrageous and it was kept cool.

When you open the box up, check the capacitors on the mobo closely and see if maybe the caps might have gone bad too.

I haven't had time to fix SM2 yet. I fired up the duallie and dedicated one of the procs to SM2. I would have dedicated both procs, but I didn't want to offend the other SMx caregivers, or my team. Would it be in violation of the SMx project to dedicate both procs to it for now?

I don't think that anyone objects to points. Many of the team boxes have had other 'bodies' or help from time to time.
If it is mobo problems let us know.

I have the mobo out and took the heatsink off. Cleaned off the core, and it looks unharmed. I need another power supply to test in a naked setting. My friend has one, just need to borrow it.

I had tried resetting the BIOS, but that didn't do anything for the problem. The MSI attachment stating that the code I was seeing meant that the processor was damaged or installed wrong. I'm gonna post a pic of the rack and case that is SM2. Which is currently the dually inside.

Red, how close are you to madison heights? If you ever need to borrow a bench, I've got just about any spare part you could want, plus whole test bench computers to swap parts in and out of.....

That's not too far from Madison Heights, only about 15 miles. If you ever need spare parts or a test bench, just give me a shout. :)
