Hi guys. The wife came home with a question today.
(She works as a customer service rep at United Stationers and moves around on the net alot for info checking pricing and availability.)
She inquired to know how you delete the typed in addresses that drop down when you click on the 'down' arrow at the right of the address bar in IE.
I said, "I never have figured that out, but I bet I know someone who will!"
Calling all braniacs, MGK needs a fix for the ol' lady! :D

not sure if it works not win08, but in winxp, in IE options, just do clear history, all the entries in the drop down thingy will be gone.

On a similar subject, regarding the address bar which you can have up on the taskbar. I've always wanted to be able to delete specific adresses, namely ones that I have typed in incorrectly, without wiping the lot. Now that's a puzzler! If anyone knows how, please let me know. I've been wanting to find a way to do it for years.

You have to do some registry edits:

    look for: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\TypedURLs

you should have a list of your typed urls. If your the parent fodler you can do a lot of customization of IE.

That doesn't always work, I had this really awkward bible music jpg err I mean mp3 show up as an address I typed even though I never did.

I reamed the registry a new a$$hole, but never figured it out, rebuild has since fixed it though.

I don't understand one thing that you said Mancabus. If you accidentally browse to a file then it will also show up in IE. The entries in the registry are just text so you can change them to anything.

How do you ream the registry?
