okay all of a sudden i turn my pc on, and i don't have the right taskbar and start button that comes default with windows xp. normally it is a blue taskbar, and green start button, and they are both 3d...also normally whenever a window is opened by an application, they have the same 3d, blue border as the taskbar.

however, now it looks like win2k...what happened and how can i fix this?! i right clicked on the desktop and went to "themes" "appearences" etc. but i cannot seem to select the winxp ones, (silver, olive, blue)

help please??? i included a screenshot so you know exactly what i mean...and as you can see in the screen i cannot select the normal winxp ones.

thanks!!

Right-Click on Start-- select Properties--it should open a dialog box that includes a set of toggles for Classic or Start...

That is windows xp right? Check that the Themes service is enabled.

    Start > Run
    "services.msc" (without the quotes)
Go down near the bottom and find the Themes service and make sure it's enabled. If not, set it to automatic, and start the service.

I actually use windows without the service. I like it better without the pretty colors and it saves a little memory so it's all good.

    Hope that helps!
