Hi guys,
A mate has just phoned me at work for some help. He's bought a PC off somebody and wants to format it but he doesn't know the login password. I'm sure I've seen somewhere a way to get past it but can't remember how it's done. Could someone let me know how? All I know is it's windows 98 and he can't get past the login.
Thanks.

In Windows 98 you can either hit the Esc key or just hit cancel when it asks for the username and password, you can get in either way.

I don't know what he's doing, I just got a phone call at work. I think he wants to load 98 then format or something in there.

Unless he has some files that he would like to save or something. Or he could have needed to get in to get the keycode from the registry. I know we have to do that a lot at work.
