Please help me remove ads 234 from my comp

I have been trying to get rid of this ads 234 for a couple weeks now. I am using spybot, adware, and AVG antivirus and nothing is working except for AVG seems to pick up the one file aqadcup.exe as a virus but won't detect it during a normal scan. Here is my Hijackthis log. Also if anyone can help could you please be as basic as possible I have never used Hijack before or had to remove anything like this in this manner.

Then find and locate the files listed above and Quarentine Them.

Once you have done that, reboot, scan with HijackThis again, and post a new log.

Thanks for the help here is my new log. But one funny thing keeps happening with the aqadcup.exe file it won't let me rename it or delete it because its said to be being used by another application. So if you can figure this out I would greatly appricate it.

You did run this in safe mode didn't you ?

Yeah ran in safe mode. Also when I do a google search a popup window comes up as well like a search popup and I think this aqadcup has something to do with it.

Download the program Killbox from our Security downloads page (link in my signtaure.) Unzip it to it's own folder. Run the program. In the bottom right hand corner you will see a drop-down box labelled (System Process.) Drop that down, and select the follwing process:

mmgsvc.exe

Once you have selected that file name, click the yellow triangle with the ! inside it to end that process.

Next, at the top of the window, use the folder icon to browse to each of these files one at a time:

C:\windows\temp\rzN.exe
C:\documents and settings\erik\local settings\temp\iPvBLGPV.exe
C:\documents and settings\erik\local settings\temp\PBHj.exe

For each one, check off "end Explore shell while killing file" and press the red X button to delete each file. If that does not delete it, mark the file for "delete on reboot." Do not reboot after each file, we will do that once at the end when you have selected them all individually.



Do this in regular mode first. If it does not work, try it in Safe Mode, except that the exe will probably not be running as a system process in safe mode, so all you will need to do is delete it.


Then, fix each of the entires in HJT which match up to those file names:

Your first log showed some of the Roboform files as "missing", so that is why SS had you fix those entries. You will probably have to re-install that program to get those files back. THe ones that were not missing can be moved back out of the quarantine of you like, then replaced in HJT using the Backups feature. It would just be easier to re-install the program if you can.

Let us know if you need help replacing the files, or if you have just re-installed the app.
