My computer keeps logging me off secure sites (Like online banking, capitalone.com)

edited September 2004 in Hardware
Ok, now I've got a nice new problem. I do all of my banking online, and all of a sudden when I log into my banking site at US Bank.com, I can get maybe a page into it, from the home page, to my checking account once I'm logged in, but then it automatically says I've been idle 15 minutes, and they're logging me off for safety concerns. But I've only been logged in for maybe 30 seconds. If I clear my browser history and delete cookies, I can get back in, but then it does it again. I just noticed it doing it today on my capitalone.com visa online account as well. It's almost like there's a program or something that's making it detect that I've been idle online the secure account. Any ideas? Thank you!

PS. Your help was greatfully appreciated for the xlime.offeroptimizer issue I was having last week. Your advise got rid of the problem. Thank you.

Laura

Have you tried adjusting the security settings on IE options..

I would also recommend giving firefox browser a try. The link is in my signature.

I will try downloading that. My problem also occurs in Netscape, so I'm not sure if that has anything to do with it? I'm not a genious when it comes to this stuff by any means, so I'll give Firefox a shot first.

If you still have problems, feel free to go to our Security SVT forum, and post a "Hijack This" log (instructions in that forum.) You may have some spyware or other malware causing this problem.
