broken gfx> or schoolboy error!
Hello there people. This is my first time on this forum as have been madly scanning the net for clever people to help my problem!
You see, My computer worked one day. then i went out while the decorators were in. I came back to find that my computer wouldn't boot.
The fans and whirs were coming on when i turned it on, but it didnt beep, nor did the screen light up.
My specs are/were
Asus A7xv8x (i think) the 333fsb one
Athlon 2600 barton o/c'd to 2050mhz
1gig Geil 3500 golden dragon
500w qtec big fan psu
radeon 9800pro with artic cooler oc'd to 420/375
etc
I took everything off it, and tried again, still to no avail
So i bought a new Mobo- A MSI Nforce 2 Delta L-
Then i put the components back in to find the same non-beeping bootup hang- took out the graphics card and it beeped and whirred like normal..
But no screen. d'oh.
The thing is, i turned off my computer properly before i went out, i would of thought the gfx would only of broke due to overheating?
Not sure if u guys and gals could shed any light on this? has my beloved 9800 just died a lonely death? its only 6months old..
I just bought a vanilla 6800 XFX 128mb -so very muc hoping the gfx was the prob, but would happily send it back if the 9800 would work
Hope you can help
Kind regards
Rich
