hi,

i got two sticks of kingston valueram... on all the chips and everywhere there is written "kinston"...there is no mention of winbond,hynix,hyundai,samsung,infineon or this kind of names.....
now here is the question...
what difference do these( winbond,hynix etc) make??
one guy told me that the rams with "kinston" written on the chips are not as good as those with"winbond,hynix..etc.
is it true?

    Look I've been to a micron manufacture plant. They make ram chips btw.. then they sell them to other brands which put their name on the chips and sell them. Don;t think Kingston make their own chips. They might buy same chips as samsung les say.. So, honestly if kingston is one of the most popular.. at least when i was buying my comp 6 months ago it was.. why would it be worse than others?

    You can see it on the dots on the chips. Winbond BH5 have their dots on each side of the center of the chip. If you have like this, you have BH5, but rebranded to something else. This is 2 completely different manufacturers BH5 chips:

    MAN.... on my chips there is written
    MODEL# KVR400X64C3A/256

    this is written on each IC

    "
    Kingston

    D3208DL3T-5A 0433PT03 "

    there are no dots or anything....

    by the look of the chips...i can only say that the chips are made by kingston...there is nothing else written anywhere

    Kingston is a reputable supplier of memory and even though it may "say" Kingston on the modules they are indeed manufactured by one of the major manufactures such as you mentioned. I hope what I have provided helps to understand what you have.

    I can't say who actually makes the modules but it most certainly is not kingston. Upon looking at the part number you provided I would sat that;

    MODEL# KVR400 = speed/ X64 = organization/ C3A = cas 3/ 256 = 256mb size
