Very annoying After boot prob :)

Ok so as you all should have known i did in fact get the pc to boot up install xp and run. But now i notice it has lockups randomly...some it gets out of some it jus freezes. Also my audio drivers seem to be fine but i get no sound. And my com picks up my gfx card and the drivers but yet when i run a game its like choppy and messed up. Idk i guess i am very happy that i got it atleast running, but any help with these issues is greatly appreciated. I told you this is the antichrist of computers.

    Ok well now it freezes USUALLY right when windows starts to load stuff. I realized it was stuck on audio drivers so i got rid of them....it still jus freezes right when windows attempts to load stuff and everything still messed up.

    Bad ram? Reinstall?

    i will test ram again or switch stuff but memtest said no...well actually memtest never finished it ran like 13 tests and i read after 7 your good....and i try another reinstall with diff mem in

    I looked in my older well now only workin mobo bios and it has hd set up as primary slave only i have no master there at all...could this be causing any probs?

    alright a test program said my hd failed Surface analysis...but the maxtor check came back with nothing, lol
