I am so tempted to replace my Abit K8V-MAX3 with the new DFI LANPARTY UT NF3 250GB. Is it worth it?

No offense dude, but why didn't you just wait for a response in the DFI thread?

My thoughts are that you already have a good board. The new board might let you overclock a smidge more. I don't think it's worth it. Not unless you think you can turn around and sell your old board for lots of money.

Probably not what you wanted to hear, but you asked :)
It'd be different if you were still using Socket A, and was asking if now was the time to move to a 64-bit board.

Lots of people are having trouble with the board. Simply because they are in a hurry to get XX amount of HTT directly without even trying to learn. No, it's not a plug and play board at all. If you are happy with the Max 3 and it performs well, keep it. BUT, if you really wan't to know, get the DFI as well and compare. You can always sell one or the other later.

Hold onto the Abit board until the DFI S939 version comes out (& the CPU prices drop more)

I agree Omega. The 15th of october is the date. Amd will do pretty agressive pricecuts that day the rumour says.

    Athlon 64 2800+ (754) $173 to $144
    Athlon 64 3000+ (754) $189 to $163
    Athlon 64 3000+ (939) - $163
    Athlon 64 3200+ (754) $227 to $208
    Athlon 64 3200+ (939) - $208
    Ahlton 64 3400+ (754) $288 to $238
    Athlon 64 3500+ (939) $346 to $288
    Athlon 64 3700+ (754) $507 to $470
    Athlon 64 3800+ (939) $643 to $643
    Athlon 64 4000+ (939) - $729
    Athlon 64 FX-53 $827 --- ?
    Athlon 64 FX-55 - $827

On the other hand, the cheapest Clawhammer will be at $470 making 1mb cache chips more expensive than they are today. (there's still a few 3200+ and 3400+ Clawhammers in stock in a few stores
