Unknown adware bug - Larkos1
Hello. I was told that this is a great place to find answers on my problems, so I thought I would try it seeing as that my current problems are driving me batty and almost everyone I have told about the problem can't figure it out.
Problem: I am getting pop-ups every few minutes when connecting to the internet, and redirects to a website called Sports Results whenever I get an offline site or after a couple of minutes browsing.
I ran virus scan, HiJackThis (log at bottom), and Spybot, and all scans came up clean as a whistle.
When I run Ad-aware, I get between 4 - 7 hits back labled VX2 (I even downloaded the Ad-aware VX2 plugin). One is a always a registry entry, while all the others are dll files, one always named ivsetup.dll and the others randomly named. Note: these files never show up before I run Ad-aware, however, not running Ad-aware doesn't stop the pop-ups and the redirects.
Trying to delete the ivsetup file gives me the message that I cannot delete it due to it being used. Most often, though, the other files can be deleted either them or upon a reboot. The registry entry can't be removed either manually or by Registar Lite.
Also, whenever I boot up, I always get the message of files trying to install but failing (Says that file cannot be update from 1% 2% 1% 2%, if Windows fails to work right run setup {it's a paraphrase but essentially what it is])
Here is my HJT log:
