spoolsv.exe keeps trying to connect after being end-tasked

Hi everyone,
Greetings from the City of Lakes!!
Info- running Win XP Pro, IE, Zone Alarm,
Dilemma-
I always end-task several programs that are auto-loaded up when I log in. One of them is spoolsv.exe, because I never print stuff at home. I always have Zone Alarm enabled while net-surfing. Inevitably at one point about 10 minutes after I log on, ZA pops up a window saying that a program is trying to access the nternet, and it is always spoolsv. Can anyone enlighten me why? Does Windows not like that program being turned off and reactivate it? And why does it try to access the internet?
My other sideline question is if I end-task any of these programs, do I actually get back the memory that the program was listed as using? I end-task them because of that logic, that while surfing or gaming I want all of the memory I can scrape up.
Thanks in advance everyone! Once again the best site on the Net...
