ok, hes the deal
i got me a Linksys Wireless G router with speed boost deal right? and the interweb and the irc and the games work fine, but Azureus.... oooohhhh Azureus. it dont connect to any seeds and if it does it downloads @ like 4 kbs. so i set up port forwarding from 6881-6889 the range i keep seeing on sites about bit torrent.
still get nothing, so i put myself in the DMZ, oh look nothing.. i go try to config AZ to use a diffreent port and all the ports i test come bak as a NAT error
i get this in the config qinzard of AZ
Testing port 6881 ... NAT Error

i opened ports 0 - 65000 because firewalls dont like me and i dont really care
Whoops. Yeah... some will disagree but I wouldn't be *that* afraid of doing that, although it should not be necessary...
Ports 6881-6889 are the unofficial bittorrent ports, that is, any client comes preconfigured with these ports and most people never change them. ISPs have come to readily notice that these ports get globs of traffic, so they've begun to throttle them around the world. Switching to other ports (I use 65435 to 65535 if I'm not DMZed) increases the speed dramatically, as they're not monitored for humongous loads of traffic. I cannot stress this enough. People using bittorrent should forward ports OTHER THAN 6881-6889.
