Wireless Zero causes sound burps
Hi, I have isolated a very annoying problem which seems directly related to Windows XP's "Wireless Zero" service. (What an apt name, I tell ya...) It seems that when it is running, exactly every minute it does some sort of activity (probably scanning the air for hotspots) that causes sound output to be interupted for a few seconds. I have seen this on several laptops I have had the pleasure of using and the only thing I have found to get around it is to turn it off. The thing is, once I do that, I cannot connect to wireless networks. Is ther some fix for this? Is there some way around it? I have tried to turn it off and use the software that ships with the wifi NIC (it is an intell that is built into this IBM T23) but it seems to require windows wifi networking to be working in order to function.
