Please help with spyware

Tried Ad-Aware, Spybot S&D, nothing worked.

The last DLL (sh4cimuv3p.dll) might be part of the problem, but it is impossible to delete (I keep getting 'Access Denied', even in DOS and Safe Mode)

    Before doing the following, please Set your computer to show hidden files and folders, Disable System Restore, and Reboot in Safe Mode.

    Once you have done that, Run HijackThis and have it fix the following:

    Then find and locate the files listed above and Quarentine Them.

    Once you have done that, reboot, scan with HiijackThis again, and post a new log.

    Thank you for your answer.

    I did exactly as you asked. During the last step (deletion/quarantine) I was only able to locate sh4cimuv3p.dll . I dragged it, quarantined it and reboot. It seems the infection is back again. Here's the log:

    Fix those entries then find and delete winlogin.exe, sh3cimuv3p.dll and the file that begins with 9RGWCV then reboot and post a new log.

    Strange thing: I cannot find winlogin.exe anywhere (Search in hidden and system folders enabled), and yet HJT says it cannot delete because the system is using it and that I have to end the process from the task manager. The file isn't there in the task manager. The closest file is WINLOGON.EXE, but it says it is a critical system process and that I cannot end it, and therefore cannot delete it. What should I do?

    I was in a real hurry so I took the short way out: I made a backup of my documents and formatted my hard drive. This time I am taking all the precautions mentioned in your guide (AntiVirus, popup killer, Ad-Aware and Spybot S&D, Firewall, everything). I really appreciate your taking the time to help me with my problem. :thumbsup:

    Make sure you switch to firefox while you're at it :) If you use anti-adware software along with Firefox, you shouldn't have a problem anymore :)
