laptop switching off

:confused: Hi I am new to all this game, but maybe someone can help.I have a HP PAVILION NOTEBOOK ZT1141S. It is just out of warranty and it is now switching off when i click on program. Is it a cpu fan and heatsink,and is it easy to replace.

    could be an overheating problem, but if you want to i would try to just reinstall xp before you got cracking it open and exploring.

    Thanks for the reply,but that has been tried, I do not get enough time to install the xp c.d. until the laptop switches off.I have had a i.t. engineer look at it,and he thinks the processor or the motherboard has had it.It looks like it will make a good paper weight.h.p laptop ****,NEVER AGAIN.

    oh its switching off that fast, yes it almost has to be overheating.
