bestfriend.scr or W32/Spybot-B problem

I am having what seems to be a common problem. Whenever I try to open my task manager or msconfig, it promptly closes. I am not sure what is causing this. I will admit that I (not my little sister) did click on my friends away message in AIM. So... couple questions here... how do I get rid of whatever I have that keeps closing task manager and msconfig?

I tried using that removal guide that is posted in this website, but I can't find any of those files listed in my HJT log to delete. So... I dont really know what to do from there...

Also, I dont know if it is related or not, but in my system32 folder, I have this file named qtimer.exe. I uploaded this to http://virusscan.jotti.dhs.org/ (as I read to do one one of these forums) and it came back infected with the W32/Spybot-B. So... how do i get rid of this problem? And is this related to the bestfriend thing? Also, I read that this W32 thing tries to steal passwords and opens your computer to an outside hacker. Luckily I have a firewall that is preventing qtimer.exe from accessing the internet, so am I ok from my passwords being stolen and an outside attack?

Also, when I am browsing the web, the IE information bar comes down on every site I visit and it tells me that "Internet Explorer has restricted this file from showing active content that could acccess your computer. Click here for options." Is this related to any of these problems? I know it should come down occasionally, but it comes down on every single page. Also, I did what it said to turn that off, and it still comes down.

Lastly, I just found a file named pz.exe sitting on my c:\ In the properties for the file it says something about containing x.bat. I also uploaded this file and it came back infected. Does anyone know what this file is and is it safe for me to simply delete?

I know there are a lot of things listed up there, but thanks for the help!!!

    I think I have slipped through the cracks... It's been a couple days and I have been moved to page 5 or so and still no help. So, maybe if I bring this back to the top it will catch someones eyes. Do I not have any responses / help with this problem because people don't care or is it that no one has any idea what to do?

    Sorry for the delay, Dexter's been out sick and the number of logs just keeps rising. It's hard for our small staff to keep up.

    pz.exe is not a system file - I would bet it's fine to kill it.

    I would think the firewall is protecting you from that happening.

    I don't see anything in the HJT log to fix.

    Have you updated and run an antivirus program like Norton?

    OK guys,

    sorry its been so long since i hace posted, but here is an update.

    I removed that qtimer.exe and i assume that got rid of this virus. I never had any problems with it changing my away messages, but i think the firewall prevented that.
    So, thanks for the help on that issue. I have run Norton 2005 and it doesnt pick anything up anymore which is always good.

    I guess the last thing i need help with is that IE information bar coming down. I read in another thread to d/l lspfix and fix a certain dll file, but that file isn't listed when i run the program, so i dont know where to go with that. Anyway, I have been using Firefox and that seems to be working great so thanks for that suggestion. If you have time, please look over this new HJT log and let me know what you think. Thanks again!
