Retail Heatsink Paste

Hey,

Building my GF's computer right now and I'm using the retail AMD heatsink. It comes with some paste on it that isn't actually a thermal pad, but seems to be some type of thermal grease. I was wondering if anyone has used this stuff and then switched it over to some AS. I'd put my ceramique on it but the surface of the heatsink is so crappy that I figure it won't help too much without some finishing work. Any ideas?

I have. The grease wasn't great, but it worked, and AS5 went on alright after I cleaned the crap up.

Thanks, I'll leave it on and watch the temps, I'll yank it if need be.
