My friend ordered these parts for a new system he wants me to help him build.

KINGWIN 80mm Ball Bearing Case Fan, Model "F-01B-3PIN" -RETAIL

Maxtor 250GB 7200RPM SATA Hard Drive, Model 7Y250M0, OEM Drive Only (2x)

Kingston ValueRAM Dual Channel Kit 184 Pin 1G(512MBx2) DDR PC-3200 - Retail

MSI nForce3 250 Chipset Motherboard for AMD Athlon 64 Socket 754 CPU, Model "K8N Neo Platinum" (MS-7030) -RETAIL

Thermaltake W0013 Silent Purepower 480W with Silver housing - Xaser Edition

AMD Athlon 64 3000+, 512KB L2 Cache 64-bit Processor - Retail

Turtle Beach 6-Channel PCI Sound Card, Model "Santa Cruz" -RETAIL

He already has a 9800xt that he is going to use. I know he ordered a white dvd drive.. That was a snafu. Sound was not ultra important. The santa cruz should sound better than the onboard.
Its already been ordered. What do think?

The psu is good, I have one and it works a treat. The rest of the stuff all looks good as well.

You may need another fan or two in the long run.
Looks like a reasonable balance of equipment.

I suggest that you don't open the sound card. Try the ob and see if it is OK. Any more they are real good.

Ive read alot about the alc850 onboard sound. Most say its ok but a dedicated sound card is a whole lot better. Im not sure how much of an audiophile he is. We will get it going and see. Im hoping his build goes really smooth as its his first and I recommended most of whats in going into the system.

    OK we built the system...

is it wrong to want to dry hump a computer??? :D

That machine rocked. 20min to install xp. Games were beautifull. 470 gig of usable space.
I could have spent all week fiddling with that machine. Maybe he will let me visit it till I can piece together my own... :D
