corapt sound with optical out (SPDIF)

edited October 2004 in Hardware
hi.
i tryed to burn music on my miniDisc, using the optical output on my NVIDIA SOUND-STORM, but the sound is corapt
ther is only a very enoing sound (very fast tik tik tiks)

- i used the optic-fiber that came with the miniDisc (sony MZR-55) but its not fit perfectly in, like it dosn't go all the way inside, but i do got the red lite on the other side of the fiber. but still no music (only tiks)

- is ther a special fiber for this optic out ?

- i never used it befor so its maybe a setings problem ?

thenx.

I think Spdif and optical are two different protocals. SPDIF is pulse code modulation and optical (TOS Link?) is light frequency modulation. Sorry I can't help, I don't use optical cable.
