edited October 2004 in Science & Tech
Im having trouble with Norton Aintvirus 2003/2004/2005 updating the

virus defintions. It update's the same 9.5 meg and gives an error.(virus definitions Fail)
It does it with XP PRO sp/1 and sp/2.
I uninstall NAV completely and del the folder manually
look for the support page of Symentec DID That 50 time
Uninstall Nav AND LiveUpdate,
Reinstall Nav after reboot.
The problem is the virus definitions, i scaned the drive and got the

same problem.I had a new 80GB Hard drive swaped it out And Instal windows xpsp2

XPsp1 & XP only . and get the same error.
Norton will not update virus definitions.I called Norton and they are no help. Everything in my computer works

except Norton. I have taken it apart completely and put it back

together! Norton is a store bought copy!!! Help Help

I must admit I don't know the answer to your problem, but if you can't solve it, AVG is a good alternative.

    Avoid PC Cillin and McAfee.

Its antivirus engine isn't as robust as AVG's or Norton's.
