how combustible is methyl methacrylate... let's see.... very.... Flash point is 50 Degree F. As for the cautions... after the methyl methacrylate evaporates, the bond "should" be OK to use around heat. Methyl methacrylate is used to allow fast curing of the epoxy. After curing the methyl methacrylate should be gone. The vapors from the evaporating methyl methacrylate are known to cause cancer. The amounts needed to cause this are fairly high so a few ounces of the material in a WELL ventilated room will be OK. I wouldn't have your sister "sniffing" the bottle of the epoxy though.

I they're concerned about the acrylate which has shown to be cancerous under certain conditions. The thing about California is that it takes one positive study to call something cancerous. No matter what the concentrations.

French (freedom?) fries are known to have acrylates (long chain polymers), so useing Cali's definition, FFs should be served with a similar warning.

I would worry about the solvent more. It has such a low flash point so that it evaporates quicker (i.e. fast setting glue).

I wouldn't try to taste the stuff.
