My new leadtek 6800nu arrived yesterday. First thing I did was slam it in & fire up Rivatuner 15.2. Did the softmod and hey presto I now have a 16pipes & 6 shaders same as the GT & Ultra versions. No artifacts or anything. I do seem to have an issue in the overclocking dept. in that no matter how high I raise the clocks in 3d mode using coolbits it doesn't affect the score but I'll track that one down when I have more time.

3dmark 03 before mod = 8420
3dmark 03 after mod = 9666

Bargain me thinks, cant wait to get this installed in my Amd64 rig & then see what it can really do.

Yeah the success rate seems quite high with this card. Have you o/c it yet Gnome? If so did you do it with CoolBits or with Rivatuner? In Rivatuner the option to enable low level hardware overclocking is greyed out for some reason. Any idea whats going on there?

    congrats man

btw, that score seems a tad low for a 6800 GT basically

Yeah but this was in my 2nd rig with stock 6800nu settings on the core & memory plus folding@home going on in the background, so I dont think its too bad. Like I say once I get it in my A64 rig, then I'll really see it's potential. :)

Yep stock Leadtek 6800, I think the settings were something like 325mhz on the core and 750mhz ??? on the memory.

what the highest settings youve been stable with that card? also did u change the heatsink? and one last question would it be a good upgrade from a 9800 pro 128mb @ 440/380

I haven't had chance to test the highest o/c I can get yet, although I know the core will do 400mhz without any trouble. I think the problem will be the memory as I doubt it'll overclock anywhere near the standard levels of a GT or Ultra card. i.e. 1000mhz plus its DDR rather DDR3 ram

The cooler on these cards is not standard, Leadtek use there own type of copper cooling solution and I don't know whether its any better or worse than the standard Nvidia solution. I haven't replaced the cooler on mine although at some point I intend to watercool the card.

As for whether the upgrade is worth it, well thats a tough question. Certainly is if the softmod is successful but on standard settings, it may not be. Mine in standard form is about 1500 points faster than my 9800 pro o/c'd, how that equates to real world performace, i'm not sure.

Ok I spent last night rebuilding my A64 rig & today messing around with overclocking the card & rig; trying to get both stable.

The result is that with the system (A64 3200) stock & card overclocked (400/810) I got 11221 in 3d03 which I think is pretty good. In order to get this I've had to volt mod the bios using Nibitor 1.7.

I don't think I'm anywhere near the max score/ o/c yet either as the memory is 2.2ns Hynix chips rather than the standard 2.8 that normally comes on 6800nu's. Also I've got to o/c the system and then bench it. I had it up to 230fsb, stable, earlier today so i have fairly high hopes of cracking 12000. :)
