Quick tip for Logitech MX1000 owners...
My 4-5 week old MX1000 had started playing up recently. I was all ready to take it back (once I feel less full of flu) this week and then I had a look underneath....
Covering the MX Laser logo around the optical eye is a tiny circular piece of clear plastic. Obviously this was placed there for shipping, however.. It does seriously affect the tracking of the mouse after regular use because it starts to shift and work loose.
So peel away the little piece of CLEAR plastic (not the MX Laser logo itself!) and tracking will work as it should
Heres the base of mine with the plastic removed.. see the little piece of plastic covering just to the side of it? That's the part I peeled off

Im just wondering if this is the cause
Fricking laaayyyyyyyyyyyseerrrrrrrr beams!
It also seems a bit easier to move on my func pad now. I guess the clear plastic was a bit raised, so it dragged on the pad.
Great tip Shorty!
Mini-Me stop humping the laaayyyysssseeerrrr.
