Like the Socket A/462 platform, there will probably be one more "budget" generation for those of us (which is most of us, I would assume) that cannot afford to change whole platforms. I mean, face it, if you're jumping from AGP to PCI/e you are changing motherboards, which means you're changing processors (probably) and thus probably changing RAM too. Hell, upgrade from ATA to SATA while you're at it, etc. You get the idea.
I'm sure the next gen cards (after the X800 and 6800) will be available in AGP, but the generation after that? Forget about it. There will be some budget cards available in AGP, I'm sure (just like you can get a PCI version of the Radeon 7500, etc.) but that'll be about it.
