Home Page changing...

Hello,
Hoping someone can help. My IE home page changed to http://www.coolsearch.biz/ and continues to do so even even after I re-set the default home page and re-boot.

I read here somewhere to try "HiJack This" th elist below s what came up. Any ideas on what I should delete (and how!) would be appreciated!

Thanks in advance!
Mike

    Your system is in urgent need of service packs. http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com

    You are also running hijackthis from a temporary folder! You need to move it to a permanent folder before I am able to help you. Create a new folder in a directory of your choice, (on the desktop is ok) and move hijackthis into it and run it from there.
    You have at least one virus that needs removing. The reason I do not want to advise any removal at present is because if a mistake is made by myself or you, there is the possibilty of the backups that hijackthis creates being accidentally deleted. Mistake\no backup = trouble :).
    Once a clean up is complete, clearing the temp folders is adviseable. Another reason to run HJT from a permanent folder.

    OK...I went to MS and downloaded updates.

    I put Hijack This in a permanent folder called Clean and re-ran the log...which is below. Any ideas on what to delete/change now?!

    Thanks for your help!!

    Looking at your log it does not look like the updates are installed?? XP and IE still have no service packs.

    Close all internet explorer windows and have hijackthis fix these;

    R0 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Start Page = http://www.coolsearch.biz/

    F3 - REG:win.ini: run=C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\services\wmplayer.exe

    O2 - BHO: (no name) - {5321E378-FFAD-4999-8C62-03CA8155F0B3} - (no file)

    O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [xpsystem] C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\services\wmplayer.exe
    O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [xpsystem] C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\services\wmplayer.exe
    O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [Udta] C:\Documents and Settings\default\Application Data\soaw.exe

    O9 - Extra button: Messenger - {FB5F1910-F110-11d2-BB9E-00C04F795683} - C:\PROGRA~1\MESSEN~1\MSMSGS.EXE (file missing)
    O9 - Extra 'Tools' menuitem: Windows Messenger - {FB5F1910-F110-11d2-BB9E-00C04F795683} - C:\PROGRA~1\MESSEN~1\MSMSGS.EXE (file missing)

    Boot into safe mode by tapping f8 whilst booting and delete these manually;

    C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\services\wmplayer.exe< file
    C:\Documents and Settings\default\Application Data\soaw.exe< file

    Boot normally, rescan with hijackthis and post that log please.
