Watching movies on T.V from PC, problem!

I swear there was a thread about this around here somewhere, but I can't find the damn thing... so...

Basically using the TV out on my GF4 Ti4400, can view the desktop fine on the T.V, but when I play video files through WMP9, they're not displayed on the T.V, just a blank space is instead. Is this a WMP problem or a driver problem? is their a patch or something?

Any info/help would be great.

Thanks in advance.

    Spinner,

I had the same problem until last week so it has to be the same thing as it was for me that fixed it.

However, i have a radeon which are a little bit different and i have the Omega´s.

Is there a option where you can set the video to output the same resolution as the source?

Hmm, I'm running Dets 44.67 and they really aren't nearly as functional option wise, as those CAT's. I have a very limited number of things I can do with T.V output and I've tried everything, and there is unfortunately no advanced clone mode options. Doh!

    Thanks for replying, nevertheless.;)

Care to give the Omega´s a try? I friggin love them. No need for any extra tweaker. Everything built in. Games looks schtunning as well.

Yea, good idea, I shall try them, just found a little application called 'TVTool' which I'm told might help cure my problems, if that fails, I'll try the Omegas.

I'll post back in a bit.

    Cheers again.

I dont know what the nView tool can do, but that may have the setting you want.

For my ti4200, which should be the same, all i had to do was enable overlay as auto for any video to play fine on tv. Like this: tv.jpg

Wmp never needed an adjustment so if it doesnt work like this im not sure what the problem is, but messing with drivers could be a start.

Thanks, however I checked that option and it is blanked out, no matter what I do.

However I have found at least one way around the problem. I got my hands on a little program called 'TVtool' which seemed to do the trick, but also I believe that if I have the TV as my primary display device instead of it being just a clone of my Monitor, the movies appear fine.

Nevertheless, problem solved. Thanks all for your help. For anyone who is interested, here the link where you can download 'TVtool' : http://tvtool.info/index_e.htm

    Thanks again.

I think you have to have a video running to be able to change the overlay options.

Tried as you suggested, the option still didn't become available unfortunately.:banghead:

    Still TVtool works a treat.
