Using your Microphone without feeback?

Okay for Online gaming, i usually use my headset, and talk to the other people online.

I just got my 7.1 speakers, but it just dawned on me, if I use the microsphone I'll get feedback (cause the computer sends the noise from the microphone to both the people online, and to my speakers.)

So I'm wondering is there anyway to only have the sound sent to the other players, and not my speakers?

I use Teamspeak, and I use a button to transmit instead of voice activation. Usually F12, or NumLock. Haven't had any feedback yet.

I'f you open your volume properites (mixer) and uncheck the mic under the "playback" heading you won't get feedback and your buds online will still hear you because the record side of the mixer is responsible for out-going traffic.

What madmat is saying is that the microphone input is being mixed into the output; to mute the microphone channel, run sndvol32 and go into the properties making sure Microphone is checked to be shown. Then mute that channel and you should be good.
