Logfile of HijackThis v1.98.2
Scan saved at 2:44:22 AM, on 10/23/2004

MSIE: Internet Explorer v6.00 (6.00.2600.0000)
Hit Ctrl+Alt+Delete together and task manager will pop up. You need the Processes Tab. You can also right click on the task bar (bottom bar) and the task manager should be listed there too.
You should get a menu asking what you wish to do after tapping f8. Safe mode boot up should be one of those options.
If you wish you can try it in normal mode. You will possibly have to fix those entries again with hijackthis first.
Instructions for booting into safe mode can be found here.
ok heres the update by the way i did run that panda thing

Looks good, but I am unsure of one file. It has a legitimate name in the running processes, but not in the corresponding line in hijackthis.
Go to http://www.kaspersky.com/remoteviruschk.html and have this file scanned.
C:\WINDOWS\mshta.exe
It will ask you to upload the file. Just navigate to it like the others you did already and it will be scanned. If it comes up bad, kill it in task manager then delete it manually.
Reboot and post another log.
I have to go out now for a while (going to watch the drag racing with my daughter. No, not ppl in drag )so will check in later.
some how i cant find them there not in task manager or in the windows file
but when i do i search on my comp i see them if i delete it from there would that work
anyways im gonna check up on this later on gotta get some sleep
Go to the control panel and double click on folder options. Click on the *view* Tab and check the radio buttons for *Show hidden files and folders.* Also c uncheck the box for *Hide protected operating system files.*
Because XP will not always show you hidden files and folders by default, Go to Start > Search and under "More advanced search options".
Make sure there is a check by "Search System Folders" and "Search hidden files and folders" and "Search system subfolders"
The files must be there as you were able to upload them to the scanner.
Go here to TrendMicro for an on-line scan & set it to autoclean for you.

C:\WINDOWS\autolfn.exe
have fun with your daughter
take care brother
but when i do i search on my comp i see them if i delete it from there would that work
anyways im gonna check up on this later on gotta get some sleep
Thanks too , we had a ball. Nothing like a few door slammers to get you going .
now i still cant find these files on my comp
Because XP will not always show you hidden files and folders by default, Go to Start > Search and under "More advanced search options".
Make sure there is a check by "Search System Folders" and "Search hidden files and folders" and "Search system subfolders"
The files must be there as you were able to upload them to the scanner.
Go here to TrendMicro for an on-line scan & set it to autoclean for you.
