Onboard SATA BIOS change
Hello, I'm new here. I was wondering if it is possible to change the BIOS version of the onboard SATA controler. I found out that it can be done by inserting the new BIOS into the BIOS of the motherboard. I looked at the Silicon Image homepage but couldn't find the bios or the newer drivers. Does anybody know how could I do this?
When my computer posts it is written: Silicon Image Sil3112A 4.2.0.0, I suppose, that the BIOS version is 4.2.0.0. SO, where could I find the new BIOS, new Drivers and a tutorial on how to modify my motherboard's BIOS?
thank you.

I'm running a GigaByte M/B myself but they don't seem to update the SATA BIOS so u have to do it yourself, If your not confident doing this then u could always ask Spinner or EQ if they would mind modding the lastest M/B BIOS for u. Check out this guide to BIOS modding:http://www.freewebs.com/tmod/cbromtutorial.htm .
Remember its all done at your own risk though!
As far as getting the latest drivers and BIOS from Silicon Image you need to enter your controller model number(in your case 3112 in to the product support box on the left hand side of this page):http://www.siimage.com/home.asp
Hope this helps!!
