seems like you have a virus on your computer (rundll32.exe)
First scan your computer with ad-aware and delete the items found.
    Also delete them in quarantine
Run this online virus scanner and make a full scan:
    http://www.ravantivirus.com/scan/indexie.php
The following items can be deleted for sure:

    R1 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,SearchAssistant = http://www.seekerbar.com/ie.aspx?tb_id=50154

You have to end them in the task manager and then delete the actual files while the processes are ended.
  • edited October 2004
I am pretty sure that I tried once to end it in the task manager but when i open the task manager again it reappears. I will give it another go.

Also, upgrade your internet explorer to version 6 SP1 (and fixes).

You are using a horribly insecure version of Internet Explorer.

Even better, why not look at an free alternative web browser??? (see my signature for FireFox information). Considerably safer than using Internet Explorer.

    Hey guys

I had trouble getting rid of Wintools with the methods listed above, so i downloaded and ran a program called "Scan SpyWare" and it found plenty of Wintools files and a whole bunch of other files that AdAware and Spybot couldn't find. But i had the trial version and could not remove them, so i saved the list and manually deleted them from my hardrive and registry. Now Wintools is gone.

Here is my new log after removal.

Open Task Manager & end process on these:
    WINADTOOLS.EXE
    WINRATCHET.EXE

Then go to C:\PROGRAM FILES and delete the WINDOWS ADTOOLS folder.

    Close all browser windows and delete this with hijackthis;

    O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [Windows AdTools] C:\PROGRAM FILES\WINDOWS ADTOOLS\WINADTOOLS.EXE

    Reboot and post another log.
