BackUp Solution?

Hay all.

My first post in here, so go easy :p

Ok. As it stands, i have a DFI Lan party Ultra B Board, 2600+Barton, Gig of Ram, 6800GT, a few other toys as well as 2x60Gb Sata Maxtor and 2x160Gb Sata's. Now as you might have guessed, they are Striped into their respective pairs, BUT... I was was to put together a small server, say, Socket A AMD, Mother board with GigaBit Ethernet (like my DFI) and Onboard sata raid, and put a couple of descent Sata’s in on Raid 0 for good measure, what sort of transfer rates would i get? I have maxed a 100Mb lan on raid 0 before, but I have no idea what this Raid array is capable of in term of network speeds. I’ve either never had a fast enough machine that could match it to provide an equal comparisons, or be restricted by a 100Mb cap. Basically, I’m looking to build a Mini-Back up server, but with 400+ gig to be backing up, even 100Mb would seem slow :p

Anyone care to take a guess, or have personal experiences them selves?

Cheers all!
