Internet doesn't work

This question is for my friend.

He wanted to delete some spyware from his computer, so he went to regedit and deleted some register values, now his internet doesn't work. Do you have any suggestions as to what he should do to get his internet back working?

    He needs to have you go online, download FireFox, save it to disk or CD, and let him install it on his machine. http://www.mozilla.org/products/firefox/

    Hope your friend backed up the registry!? If so, than do it then remove spware and adware the normal way by scanning with Ad-Aware and SpyBot Search & Destroy which can be found here. Also while you are there download HijackThis v1.98.2, make a folder and save it here C:\ on the comp and the post the results in the SVT Forum.

    Obviously you're going to have to download all this for your friend and save it onto a CD then install it on your friends computer.

    Does he get winsock or socket errors? http://www.cexx.org/lspfix.htm Taking out spyware sometimes takes the winsock with it. There are more links at the bottom of the page.
