Please help me, Everquest is coming out in 4 days...and my motherboards killing me:-)

edited November 2004 in Science & Tech
i'm having some issues with my motherboard, i'm running Gigabyte GA-8KNXP rev 1, P4 3.0 HP 800FSB, Kingston 1G Dual Channel DDR Ram 400, 120G Seagate Barracuda SATA, ATI Radeon 9600 Pro, Windows XP Home Edition.

1) when i upgrade my Win XP to service Pack 1 or Higher, my onboard LAN drivers stop working, i can re-install them but they are not picked up
2) disabling the onboard LAN driver on the motherboard causes my computer to freeze on boot up
3) tried adding a D-LINK ethernet card without disabling the onboard LAN, the D-LINK card will not work

I have the latest BIOS but i cannot upgrade to the latest Chipset or LAN drivers as the executables from the GIGABYTE website only give me a dialog box with a bunch of question marks when they are run

please help me out if you have run into a similar problem or can see any solution

thanks
nima
